Dough Pizzeria Napoletana - San Antonio, TX
The only pizza that we ate in San Antonio, but I can't imagine that it's not the best in the city.
House-made burrata:

Smitty's BBQ - Lockhart, TX
Brisket, sausage, white bread, plastic knife, no sauce, no forks, Shiner Bock. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better lunch:

Pizza Palace - Knoxville, TN
We have a new favorite for pizza in Knoxville - Pizza Palace has been around since the '60s, and it's a drive-in, so they're happy to bring your pie and beer in a styrofoam cup right out to the car.

Comfort - Richmond, VA
The good folks at Comfort in Richmond spent all Labor Day canning 14 cases of odds and ends so you don't have to:

In 'n Out - Los Angeles, CA
I finally got around to tasting the original Double Double (bottom) next to the 'Animal Style' (top)...the winner? Original!
Animal - Los Angeles, CA
Apologies for the terrible photos, but the pig tails in buffalo sauce and poutine (cheese fries, y'all) with oxtail gravy at Animal in West Hollywood shall not go undocumented:

Apple Pan - Los Angeles, CA
What else can be said about the Apple Pan that hasn't been said since it opened in 1947? Perfect burgers; decor that looks unchanged after 60+ years; horseshoe counter 'round the kitchen; classic motto ("Quality Forever").

Pizzeria Mozza - Los Angeles, CA
Every person that I asked about pizza in Los Angeles insisted that I visit Pizzeria Mozza. I don't think anyone even mentioned a single place besides this. No need to, I suppose, this was as good as it gets. I heard it described as less of a traditional pizza, but more like 'really good bread with toppings.' Either way, the sausage was maybe the best I've had:

Canters Deli - Los Angeles, CA
One of the best restaurant exteriors anywhere:
Interior is pretty great too:
And it's attached to one of LA's great bars:

Red Roof BBQ - Wewahitchka, FL
This place seems to be open whenever they feel like being open, so we were happy to finally drive by when they were there. This may well be the best burger in northwest Florida:
BBQ was quite good as well:
Decor was stellar:
And the guy that owns the place told us that he'll let his car go for $5,000:
River City BBQ - Eufaula, AL
VERY good BBQ at a new place on Highway 431 in Alabama. White sauce and Natural Light are an added bonus.
