Green Olive Media Christmas Party!

Huge thanks to Moto Bene for bringing the mobile wood-fired oven out to our Christmas party...we already knew how good the pizzas are, but Dan outdid himself with 100 pounds of oysters (a gift from our friends at 13 Mile in Apalachicola), and threw in a few ribeyes to boot. We were even granted our request of the chicken liver once served at the greatly-missed L&M in Oxford, MS. A Christmas miracle!

Strays From New Orleans

Friday Lunch At Galatiore's - New Orleans, LA

This article tells the story better than we can. By the numbers:
Arrived at 2:00
Seated at 4:30
Food served at 6:00
Great way to spend a Friday lunch.

French 75 Bar - New Orleans, LA

December is prime time to stop by French 75 Bar at Arnaud's for a Tom and Jerry from our pal behind the bar, Chris Hannah:Also, escargots:

Cochon Butcher - New Orleans, LA

It's wise to try and not eat too much at Cochon, because you know you're going to end up going around the corner for another meal at Cochon Butcher. Duck pastrami sandwich, chorizo w/ potato and saffron aioli, marinated Brussels sprouts:

Mr. B's - New Orleans, LA

Is there anything better than old-school menu design?

Mahony's Po Boys - New Orleans, LA

There's few things better than a french fry po-boy, but it's hard to find a good one. Mahony's makes everything right by topping theirs with what seems like a half-pound of roast beef gravy. Oyster po-boy and shrimp po-boy on the side.

Cochon - New Orleans, LA

We're slowly working our way through the entire menu at Cochon...a great non-pig option: woodfired oysters w/chiles.

Lucky Dogs - New Orleans, LA

Not as good as a Papaya dog, but definitely the best street dog I've had in New Orleans.
