Atlanta Food Signs
While looking though our files for the picture of the Ghetto Burger in the post following this one, I came across some shots that we did a while back of choice food signage in East Atlanta:

Somebody Buy This Place Already!
The New York Times reports that the asking price for Ann's Snack Bar in Atlanta has dropped more than two thirds, down to $450,000 from $1.5 million.

Three Gifts

Chocolate from Olive & Sinclair (full disclosure - they are clients but we do LOVE the chocolate so heck yes, we are touting the talents of these boys from Jeff's hometown Nashville) Our good friend Kate Medley produced this video for Whole Foods -- enjoy: http://blog.wholefoodsmarket.com/2010/08/olive-sinclair/
Noma: Time and Place in Nordic Cuisine by Chef René RedzepiVideo from Amazon:http://amzn.to/9TSOBa
(Seriously considering our next trip to Denmark if we can score a reso)
We met David Wondrich at a Southern Foodways Alliance symposium a couple years ago. It was shortly after his book Imbibe was released. Wondrich is a cocktail historian and barkeep extraordinaire. We are pretty excited about Punch. Our good friends at H Harper Station have punch bowl offerings (they too have "imbibed" with Wondrich) so we are hoping to bring him to Atlanta on his book tour.November 10, 2010

We've launched the website (as well as designed the logo, menus, print materials, etc.) for the just-opened H. Harper Station in Atlanta.

University Of Florida Design
Thanks to the 40 students who came up from the University of Florida design program to visit the Green Olive Media Atlanta office - we got a lot of good questions about design and ate plenty of bacon, sausage and fried chicken. These guys were great!

Kim's Chicken Cracklings
Possibly my new favorite food, these beat pork rinds by a country mile. If anybody knows where we can get these in the Atlanta area, please fill us in...
Southern Foodways Alliance 2010 Symposium - Oxford, MS
As usual, the SFA Symposium was an amazing conglomeration of incredible food, fascinating speakers, and great friends/clients/associates/n'er-do-wells. Just a few of the many highlights:
Hundreds of drumsticks, courtesy of Michelle Bernstein:
Fried Bologna (actually peanut mortadella) sandwiches from Tandy Wilson of City House, assisted here by Dan Latham of Moto Bene:
The end result of cooking 40 cow heads for about 30 hours, before being made into cabeza tacos:
Eddie Huang (aka General Loko) dishing out ridiculously good catfish stir-fry:
The world's best catfish, from Taylor Grocery:

El Fenix - Dallas, TX
The cheese enchilada at El Fenix - this came close to the enchiladas that I remember from my youth in Dallas, but am looking for more Tex-Mex recommendations in the area...
Tagliare Pizza - LaGuardia Airport, New York, NY
So long Burger King, Sbarro and Chili's - the Delta terminal's food court at LaGuardia airport has been completely revamped, and now features restaurants such as a burger stand from beef man Pat Lafreida (meat supplier to Shake Shack et al), and Tagliare, a pizza joint courtesy of the son of Dom DeMarco, proprietor of the legendary Di Fara. This is one of the best slices I've had in New York, period. And it's at the airport.
Roberta's - Brooklyn, NY
I love the pizzas that they're making at Roberta's in Bushwick, and this month they have a stand set up in Madison Square Park to fill your pizza needs when in Manhattan. Nothing wrong with a mobile pizza oven on a trailer.

Prime Meats - Brooklyn, NY
Labels:
creekstone farms,
minetta tavern,
prime meats
Osteria Morini - New York, NY
I should have known that the pasta at the new Osteria Morini would be pretty great after the meal we had at sister restaurant Marea. Morini definitely has a spot on our regular rotation now, thanks to the squash mezzalune:
Burger At The Breslin - New York, NY
We're big fans of the Lamb Burger at The Breslin, but we've recently discovered their perfect Bacon Cheeseburger, available via Ace Hotel room service but not in the Breslin proper. Definitely worth booking a room at the hotel for.
H. Harper Station Photos
A couple of shots from our photo shoot at the soon-to-open H. Harper Station.

Mobile Post - Great Lakes Brewing Co. - Cleveland, OH
I believe this is my first experience with pierogies (gimme a break, I'm from the South), but I'm willing to start a campaign to bring 'em down here. Got a side of brats for good measure.
