Thanks once again to George Motz for the tip on this one - there are several of these stands around Nashville, but I'd never made it to one before. The burger tasted just like the ones I used to get at the Middle Eastern delis while in college in Knoxville, TN (i.e. there's some weird spice mix in there that I can't quite place).
My burger: The sign for the 27-oz 'Supper Deluxe:'
Thanks to Ben & Eliza for turning us on to this sausage from Austin...maybe the best breakfast sausage ever? We cooked up some biscuits and a breakfast casserole at the office this morning...
Yet another post about Carver's Country Kitchen...today was the first time I've tried the chicken and dumplings. You could almost call it chicken and stuffing...either way, it was top-notch, as usual...
From the Stuckey's in Winchester, TN - these are not quite as good as I remembered them being, but it seems that the package hasn't changed since I last ate one about 30 years ago - check out that lettering!
I believe this truck is related to the brick-and mortar Lopez Taqueria location on Nolensville Road in Nashville...my car involuntarily pulls itself over here when I see the guy out front manning the grill loaded up with chickens...
The burger took a little longer than usual - the girl taking orders told me she also has to cook today because chef called in from jail...got a bonus candy cane for my trouble...
You have to love a market that's selling every part of the fish - I've never cooked a grouper throat, but these look pretty meaty, and at $1.50 a pound, I'd say it's worth a shot. Spotted at 13 Mile Seafood Market, Apalachicola, Florida.
